A people-centred strategy, co-designed by the people who deliver it
City of Greater Dandenong · Co-Design Facilitation · Social and Public Welfare
We facilitated a co-design process with the City of Greater Dandenong to shape a clear, people-centred strategy owned by the people who deliver it.
The challenge
The City of Greater Dandenong wanted a strategy that would genuinely propel the organisation forward: clear in direction, focused on outcomes rather than tasks, and centred on people. The risk with any strategy is that it gets written by a few in a room, then lands flat with everyone expected to deliver it. Greater Dandenong wanted the opposite, a strategy owned by the people who would deliver it.
What we did
Over six weeks we facilitated a series of co-design workshops with the team. Rather than drafting a strategy and presenting it back, we worked backwards from the outcomes the organisation wanted to create, then built the strategy together, live, in the room. We co-designed the pillars, the values and the priorities, and distilled the whole thing into a single Strategy on a Page the team helped shape and could immediately stand behind.
The impact
Greater Dandenong came away with a clear, people-centred strategy captured on a single page, and genuine ownership of it across the team that has to bring it to life.
