Proving the difference, in a way everyone can answer
Interact Australia · Impact Measurement · Human Rights, Social and Public Welfare
We designed participant and staff impact frameworks for Interact Australia, with accessible Easy English surveys run independently by Elevate.
The challenge
Interact Australia knew it made a real difference in people's lives. Proving it was harder. Satisfaction surveys can tell you whether people liked a service, but not whether life actually got better. Interact wanted independent evidence of change, for the people it supports and for its own workforce, gathered in a way every participant could take part in, whatever their communication needs.
What we did
We designed two impact frameworks, one for participants and one for staff, each built around four domains drawn from Interact's strategic plan. Participants are asked whether they feel safe, heard, welcome and hopeful. Staff are asked whether they feel respected, inspired, secure and proud. We wrote the participant survey in Easy English, with visual symbols and simple answers, scored on the same scale as the standard version so results compare directly. Both surveys are run independently and anonymously by Elevate.
The impact
Interact now has a clear, repeatable way to measure the difference it makes, and a baseline it can track year on year.
